The holding member is movable to the left and the right and to the rear and the front, thereby allowing a distance between the holding member and the guiding surface to be adjusted. The holding member and the carrier element are to be moved relative to each other by one hand of the user, while the guiding surface and the holding surface are manually moved toward and away from each other and also in a direction parallel to the guiding surface by the other hand of the user. The comb-like carrier element comprises a transversely extending slot which is slotted in the direction of the movement of the cutting member and extends at the length of the strip to be cut.
